Service Description

MockGen is a web based system for turning internet accessible web pages into mockups.

Given a starting URL and additional set of input parameters, MockGen will generate mockups from the one or more linked web pages based on rules specified in the selected style sheet. The resulting generated mockups will be emailed to the address associated with your account. Read about the features of MockGen here.

Users are entitled to generate a certain number of mockups per month with additional restrictions without any payment (Free).

Users can also initiate a Subscription to MockGen to increase their limits. A range of subscription plans are offered and incur a fee that is charged on a recurring basis, typically monthly or yearly.

Intellectual Property

The layout and structure of the source web pages of the intellectual property of the website owner. It is your responsibility to respect the rights of the website owner and agree to any terms and conditions that impose on the use of their property.

Mockup Generation

MockGen converts web pages into mockups that can subsequently be opened by one of the supported applications.

It does this by (simplistic summary):

  • Using the parameters specified in the Generation request submitted by a user, and applying any limits or additional restrictions, retrieve web pages utilising the WebKit engine that forms the core of a number of different browsers such as Safari and Google Chrome.
  • Applying the rules defined the selected Style Sheet to generate a mockup file(s).

Depending on the additional settings specified as part of the Generate request, and the target application, one or more mockup files is generated.

  • The mockup file(s) and associated content such as images are zipped into a single file
  • The zip file is emailed to the address associated with the requesting user

We do not make any guarantees to the accuracy of the generated mockups or that they are suitable for any particular purpose or requirement.

When you register with MockGen your account is automatically associated with the Free subscription plan. This plan allows you to generate a limited number of mockups each month without any payment.

You can choose to upgrade your Subscription to one of the plans offered on a recurring payment basis (monthly or yearly billing period) that offer increased limits and/or reduced restrictions on usage. Supported payment methods are Visa and MasterCard. Current subscription plans on offer can be viewed on the Pricing page. You will be billed in advance at the beginning of each billing period.

Once you reach your limits within the current billing period, you can choose to upgrade your subscription, or wait until the next billing period begins, at which time your usage counts will be reset.

You can upgrade your subscription plan at any time, the increased limits will apply immediately and you will be billed the difference in pricing between the old and new plan.

You can downgrade your subscription plan at any time, the new plan will take effect on commencement of the next billing period.

We do not offer refunds if you choose to cancel a subscription, but your entitlements remain until the end of the current billing period.

We use the Chargify service to manage subscription sign-up and on-going billing. MockGen never sees your credit card details. We will notify you via email if there are any delays in payment, and may suspend your account if we are unable to resolve payment issues in a timely manner.
